Thomas Plummer obituary- Thomas Plummer Thomas Plummer, the aged watchman who was killed on the Pennsylvania Railroad, near the Summerhill Station last evening (1/18/1897), was born February 27, 1829, at the old homestead in Croyle Township, where his brother Samuel now resides. His parents, Mr. and Mrs. Isaac Plummer died there many years ago. He was married in the Roman Catholic Church at Wilmore, in 1856, to May Clark, who was born and raised in the vicinity of Summerhill. Rev. Father Thomas Walsh performed the ceremony. Thomas Plummer was a brother of Joseph Plummer, of Altoona; Samuel of Croyle Township; Mrs. Madge Litzinger of Gallitzin; and Mrs. Peter Brown and Mrs. John Griffith, of Summerhill. His surviving children are: William, of Pittsburgh; Kate, wife of Peter Yarner, and Elizabeth, wife of William Sate, of Summerhill; Misses Cecilia, Bridget, and Lenore, who are at home; Sylvester of South Fork; Joseph, Clark and Earl at home. He is also survived by his wife. Joseph, who is about twenty years of age, is ill of consumption, and is lying in critical condition at his home. Thomas Plummer, a son of the deceased, was killed about seven years ago on the Pennsylvania Railroad at South Fork. He was a brakeman, and his run was between Derry and Altoona. The remains will be taken on Altoona Accomodation on Thursday morning to Wilmore, where requiem mass will be said by father James Graven, of the Ehrenfeld Catholic Church, of which Mr. Plummer was a member. Interment will be made in the church graveyard at Wilmore.
