                                               Lela P. Huish
Lela P. Huish, 97, of Merrillville, IN., formerly of East Chicago, 
passed away at Methodist hospital Southlake Campus on Monday, October 
9, 1995. She was a former teacher in the East Chicago Public School 
System and a former member of the Indiana Harbor Baptist Church. 
Member of Order of Eastern Star Indiana Harbor Chapter #378, Past 
Grand Matron Order of the Amaranth Harriett Higgins Court #19, American 
Legion Auxiliary Unit #369 and 8/40. She also belong to many organizations.
Preceded in death by husband, Eugene; son, Robert Huish and brothers, 
Keith and Laverne Paulus. Survived by four grandchildren, Lance (Lisa) 
Huish, Carol (Ed) Saffrahn, Robert (Josephine) Huish and Kathy Huish, 
all of Merrillville; ten great grandchildren; daughter-in-law, Marjorie 
Huish of Lake Station; sister-in-law, Lavanna Paulus of Rensselaer, 
Indiana and nieces and nephews.
Funeral service Thursday, October 12, 1995, 10 am at Geisen Funeral Home, 
7905 Broadway, Merrillville, IN. Burial, Ridgelawn Cemetery, Gary.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be given to the Indiana 
Masonic Home. OES service on Wednesday evening 7:30 pm., Amaranth service 
at 7:45 pm.
