Lake County, IN, Obituary Walter R. Weldon The Calumet News July 19, 1932 Funeral services for Walter R. Weldon, 61 years old, who died Friday in Chicago were held at 2 p.m. this afternoon from McGuan's funeral chapel. The Rev. David S. Sharpe, pastor of the United Presbyterian church, preached the funeral sermon and Mrs. Herman Lewis sang. Burial was at Ridgelawn cemetery; the Veterans of Foreign Wars held a short service at the grave. Mr. Weldon, formerly of the Twin City, had been employed at the Youngstown Sheet and Tube company, the Inland Steel company, and the Universal Atlas Cement company. He left here six years ago and has lived since with his sister, Miss Flause Weldon, and a brother, Thomas, in Chicago. He had been ill five years. Mr. Weldon is survived by his wife, Mrs Anna C. Weldon, 3711 Grand boulevard, and by six children, Frank E. Weldon, of Chicago; Mrs Ruth Thomas, of Hessville; William, Donald and John Thomas Weldon, of this city, and Mrs. Jeanne Potter, of Louisville, KY. He was a civilian employee of the government in the railroad service in Russia during the World War.
