Lake Co., IN Obit WILBUR PALMER THOMPSON, fifth child of AMOS P. and CELESTA E. THOMPSON, was born in West Creek township, Lake county, Indiana, May 1, 1882, and died from injuries received while at his post of duty as a street car conductor in Chicago, February 28, 1912, aged 29 years, 9 months and 29 days. He was united in marriage to Miss ALICE CONSTANCE SHEEHAN, in Chicago, October 18, 1905. Two children - CONSTANCE MARION, daughter and EVERETT GERALD, son 5 and 3 years old respectively, blessed this union. He was an honored member of Lowell Colfax Lodge, No. 378, A.F.&A.M. WILBUR was employed for the past four years by the City Railways Co., and was at his post of duty when he met his untimely death, which has brought sadness and sorrow to his bereaved family, parents, brothers, sisters and friends. WILBUR was of a very ambitious disposition and at the time of his demise had accumulated for himself and loving wife a beautiful home in Chicago, and to be taken away just as he was getting prepared to look into the future with a more substantial veine makes his departure all the more sorrowful to forbear. He was possessed of an unusual kindly disposition willing at all times to do good for his legion of friends and neighbors. He was a dutiful son, loving husband and indulgent father. He leaves to mourn him a wife, daughter, son, parents and brothers and sisters- MRS. ELLA MERRIMAN, Bangor, Mich. MRS. ALICE LLOYD, Lowell, CHARLES, Creston, IRVIE, Buck Creek, Ind., MRS. MARY HILL, Chicago and ADELBERT,Lowell, together with numerous other relatives and friends by whom the bereavement can never be forgotten. Funeral services were held at the Methodist church Tuesday at 11a.m. There was a large number in attendance to pay their last tribute of respect to one whom they loved and respected in life. REV. R.H. JOHNSTON preached an excellent funeral discourse. The M.E. church choir sang several beautiful songs. After the services at the church the funeral cortege wended its way to the mausoleum building, where the beautiful ritualistic ceremony of the Masonic lodge was performed by members of the Colfax lodge over the remains of their departed brother. Funeral Director JOHN CASTLE had charge of the burial service. Interment was made in the mausoleum. The members of Colfax lodge acted as pallbearers: MERRITT SPRAGUE, HARVEY HILDEBRANDT, JOHN PETERSON, P.M. McNAY, VICTOR K. ROBERTS and H. GERSHMAN. To the bereaved wife and fatherless children, aged parents, brothers and sisters and relatives and friends of the deceased we extend our heartfelt sympathy in their dark hour of affliction.
