Lake County Obit Walter L. Pinkerton, eldest son of Silas and Elizabeth Pinkerton was born at Newton, Kansas, and died at St. Margaret hospital, Hammond In. Dec.19.1925, after 3 days illness His boyhood days were spent in Kansas.When at 10 yrs. old he moved to Kirkville Mo.where he lived until he was 21 yrs.of age, when he went to Enid, Ok, where he remained until 1902. From there he went to Pueblo, Co, where he was united in marriage to Ella Forney, Jan. 2,1905. To this union was born 1 son Othenile,who survives him. His wife passed away Aug.10,1910, in Gary,In. Sept.8,1913 he was again united in marriage, this time to Mildred Alger of Lowell In.to this union was born 5 children, Vernon Walter, Ralph Harvey, Marvin Lee, Marabel Elnore and Mabel Lee, the last named preceded him in death on Oct. 19, 1918. He was converted to christ when a young man, being affiliated with the baptist church. In 1919 he transfered by letter to the Pine Street Presbyterian church at Hammond, and was a christian man unto the end. His religion was deeds without words and faith with works. He was a member of the Knights of Pythias and the Faternal Aid Union. Besides his wife and children he leaves to mourn his loss, 5 sisters and 2 brothers and a host of friends. The funeral was held at his late home 450 Ash St. Hammond,Monday at 2p.m. The following acted as pallbearers: Earl Barnhart, Wesley Barnhart, Miles Barnhart, Roy Barnhart, Thomas Ragan and David VanZant.
