Lake County Obit Thomas Imandry Powell Thomas Imandry Powell was born in 1857 in Wyandotte county, Kansas, the second white child born in Wyandotte county, and the twelfth child in his parents’ family. His father was a direct descendant of Joe Powell, who came to America before the Revolutionary War. His mother was a member of the Cummings family of Virginia. He grew to manhood in Kansas and in 1880 he married Abby Ault. Six children from this union grew to maturity and all are living at this time. One child died in infancy. With his wife and children he came to Lowell in 1890 and here he made his home until he passed on in his sleep, Tuesday morning, January 22nd. He leaves behind, the wife, with whom he lived more than 59 years; his six children, five grandsons and two great-grand-children. All his brothers and sisters preceded him in death. His passing marks the end of a kindly man, a good neighbor, a considerate husband and father, and may his soul rest in the peace his good life earned him. Funeral services were held Thursday at 2 p.m. from the Sheets chapel, Rev. E. L. Worley minister in charge. Music by Mrs. Grace McCarty, with Mrs. George Foster at the piano. Burial in the Lowell cemetery in charge of Kenneth Sheets. Obituary Lowell, Indiana, Tribune Thursday, February 1, 1940 There are a number of things wrong with the facts in this obit.
