S. P. (Stephen Peter) Stringham was my gr gr gr grandfather, he came 
to Indiana from New York.  He lived in Martin County, Indiana, prior 
to being in Lake County, Indiana.  His son Leonard was a wheelwright 
in the Lowell area, and was Post Master for a short. Another son of 
Stephen's, David, worked at the Lowell Brickyard.

Stephen moved on west, and died in Cass County, Iowa, November 13, 
1856.  There are still descendents in the area.
