Lake County, Indiana [Lowell Souvenir, March 15, 1902] MRS. MARY ESTHER BAUGHMAN Mrs. Mary E. Baughman, after an illness of several months, died Thursday of last wee at six o'clock p.m., in West Creek township, and the funeral took place from lake Prairie chapel at 2 o'clock Sunday, Elder J. Bruce officiating. The remains were deposited in the Lake Prairie cemetery. Mr. H. C. Weaver directed the funeral arrangements. Mrs. Baughman was the eldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. H.G. Peach, and was born in Merrimac Co., N.H., Oct 22, 1843. She came with her parents, two brothers and two sisters to West Creek in the fall of 1855, settling on Lake Prairie, which was then comparatively a new country. She has lived in that neighborhood since that time, and has been an interested witness to the settlement and changes the yers have brought. Her father died in less than three years after settling here. The sisters, and more recently her mother have passed away. The brothers survive her. Mary Esther Peach was united in marriage with J. D.
