SZABO, John P.   Hammond Times   July 17, 1959.

Services for John P. SZABO, 77, of 6644 Marshall St., Hammond, will be held Monday

at 9:30 am.  Fife Funeral Home, 4201 Indianapolis Blvd., East Chicago, and at a 10 am

Mass in the Holy Trinity Hungarian Church in East Chicago.  Singing by Rev. Joseph

D. Sipos.   Burial will be at St. Johns Cemetary.

Mr. SZABO died Thursday in St. Catherines in East Chicago following a heart attack.

Survivors:

Wife:   Katie (Kocsis) Szabo

Son:    John Szabo of Hammond.

Son:    Julius Szabo of East Chicago.

Son:    Steve Szabo of Anaheim Ca.

Daughter:   Mrs. Margaret (Peggy) Sampias.  (wife of Nick Sampias) of Highland.

Sister:   Mrs. Elizabeth (nee Szabo) Gazdik.  (wife of John Gazdik) of Hammond.

Seven grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

Mr. SZABO was a yardmaster at Wisconsin Lumber and Coal Company in East Chicago for

20 years before his retirement in 1949.  

He had lived in East Chicago for 55 years and was a charter member of the Holy Trinity

Hungarian Church and the Sacred Heart Society at the Twin City Church.
