Subj: Descendant of George Zuver Date: 99-04-11 22:52:20 EDT From: rconn@magicnet.net (R. A. Connell) To: anolelady@aol.com You list in 1836, G. Zuver, Bartholomew Co. George Zuvers was my 3rd great grandfather, married to Winifred Branham, migrated from KY to Jefferson Co., then Bartholomew and to Lake Co., in 1836. They had SIX sons = lots of descendants by name of Zuvers. I know little about George Zuvers. He was in the War of 1812, settled in Merrillville and probably is buried in the Merrillville Cemetery. He died in 1845. His widow remarried in 1846, in Lake Co., to Daniel Lindsey who had a son and a daughter, Martha. She married Amos Zuvers, her step brother. (My 2nd GGP) Their daughter, Clara Belle Zuvers, married A. F. Nitchman, and they lived in Hobart; buried in Crown Hill Cemetery (d. 1915 & 1918), (My GGP) A. F. Nitchman was a telegrapher and station manager for Pennsylvania RR. Their daughter, Laura B. Nitchman grad. from Hobart High School and married 1902, in Hobart to Frank Keyes of Ohio. (My grandparents.) He worked for Aetna Powder Co., in Lake Co. I would be happy to exchange with any Lake Co. Zuvers or Lindsey researchers. Richard Connell
