Lake County, Indiana Frederick L. Lempke He came to US in 1865. He is in the church records of St John's Lutheran in Tolleston (Now Gary), IN. He resided in Clarke Station, IN. His naturalization records say Frederick Lempke was 32, a resident of Prussia, left Hamburg , and arrived at NY on Jul 17, 1865. The Ship list of the FORTUNA, states Friederick Lembke, 29, shoemaker; Ottile, 31, wife; Alma, 4, and Auguste, 2 , daughters were headed to Wisconsin. Alma would be Johanna. Obit:Grand Haven, Michigan, Monday June 6, 1925. Oldest Man Dies at Home after Long Illness Frederick L. Lempke Dies Here at Age of Eighty-eight Years. Frederick Lempke, ages 88 of this city passed away this morning at his home on South Griffin Street. Mr. Lempke was said to have been the oldest male rsident of this city. He had been ill for four months. Mr. Lempke is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Johanna Stang, Mrs Augusta Voss, both of this city and Miss Emma Lenpke of Chicago. Surviving are also eight grand children, and one great grandchild. Funeral services will be held at Gary, Indiana tomorrow afternoon in St. John's Lutheran Church with Rev. August Rump officiating. Burial will be in Gary. The body was shipped to Gary today.
