Lake County IN Obituary Kankakee-Valley Review (Newspaper) September 20, 1902 ELIZA ANN (ALLEN) STOWELL . Mrs. John Stowell, one of Shelby's aged citizens, passed away on Tuesday; her death being due to inflammation of the stomach. Eliza Ann Allen was born August 28, 1844. She was married to Hiram Dulin in 1864. To this union two children, a son and a daughter were born. On November 10, 1887 she was married to John Stowell, who with the two children, two brothers, and two sisters are left to mourn her death, which took place September 16, 1902 at 5:15 p.m. at the age of 58y 19d. On September 27, 1902 in the same paper appeared the following: The remains of Mrs. John Stowell were interred in West-Creek Cemetery where they were followed by a large concourse of friends and relatives. The funeral services were held in the Shelby school house.
