SIMPSON, farmer and stock dealer, is a native of Orleans County, Vermont, was born in 1855, and is a son of Alexander and Margaret (Paterson) Simpson, the former a native of Scotland, the latter of Vermont; they are now living in Illinois and farming. In 1875, John A. Simpson married Miss Eliza, daughter of John and Mary Antcliff, and a native of England. To this union has been granted two children--Alice M. and Grace J. Mr. Simpson farms upon 320 acres of rented land. He cultivates 170 acres of corn, forty of oats and forty tons of hay; raises about 140 head of hogs, and fifty of cattle each year.
